Rules are based on FundedNext’s published terms as of September 2026; firms change rules often, so check the official help centre before you trade. What the main rules mean in dollars
On a $100,000 account using the main program’s numbers:
| Rule | Percentage | In dollars |
|---|---|---|
| Profit target (first phase) | 8% | $8,000 |
| Daily loss / daily limit | 5% | $5,000 |
| Maximum loss | 10% | $10,000 |
FundedNext uses a static maximum loss that stays fixed below your starting balance on this program. Profits you make increase your buffer, which gives you more room over time. Our trailing vs static drawdown guide has worked examples.
Other rules to know
- On funded accounts, only 40% of profit from trades within 5 minutes of a listed high-impact event counts; losses count in full.
- EAs are allowed on MT4 and MT5 only.
- Gold leverage on the 2-Step was cut to 1:10 in January 2026.
- A 15% reward based on the challenge profit target is paid under your plan’s terms.
Banned strategies
High-frequency trading, arbitrage, grid trading and account rolling. Hedging is allowed only within a single account; copying identical trades across accounts isn’t allowed.
Recent rule changes
FundedNext changed several terms in early 2026: gold leverage on the 2-Step dropped to 1:10 in January, and the challenge-profit reward terms changed for accounts bought on or after January 12, 2026. Its help articles have at times contradicted each other, so confirm with support.
Evaluation vs funded account
Don’t assume the rules stay the same once you’re funded. Check these funded-account conditions at FundedNext, and re-read the funded section of the terms the day you pass:
| Payout schedule | 1-Step every 5 business days; 2-Step after 21 days, then 14 |
|---|---|
| Payout speed and methods | 24-hour guarantee or $1,000 |
| Consistency | Varies by model |
| Profit split | 80%; 90% via scaling; 95% add-on |
FundedNext rules for UK traders
Yes. FundedNext only refuses residents of North Korea, Myanmar, Belarus, Iran and Russia, so UK traders can join every model and choose MT4, MT5, cTrader or Match-Trader. Firms that reset daily limits at 5 PM New York time reset at 22:00 UK time. Fees and payouts are in foreign currency, and payouts are generally taxable income for HMRC.
How traders most often break FundedNext’s rules
- Trading high-impact news on a funded account and losing 60% of that profit.
- Oversizing gold after the leverage cut.
- Choosing cTrader or Match-Trader and then wanting to run an EA.
For a practical plan to avoid these, read how to pass the FundedNext challenge.
